Project Manager


Location: The Radnor Arms, New Radnor, Powys

Job Type: Part time, Temporary

Renumeration: £26.66 - £40 per hour, depending on experience

Hours: 15 hours a week (equivalent of 2 days a week) over 3 to 6 months.

Reports To: Building Development Lead of The Radnor Arms Community Benefit Society Management Committee

Role Summary:

The Project Manager for the Radnor Arms Hotel Community Benefit Society (The Society) will deliver the successful planning, execution, and completion of projects determined by the business plan and management committee to work with them to renovate and open the Radnor Arms - a now community owned pub in the heart of the village of New Radnor.

This role requires a dynamic individual with strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills to manage a series of project phases, to engage the community, and ensure the pub becomes a vibrant hub for the local and wider community.

There may be potential for a successful candidate to continue in the role on an ongoing basis, following success in the initial role. The role is funded by grant awards and further funding is being explored.

Key Targets – in relation to the Business Plan  

To work closely with the management committee to oversee project management of three initial key targets. To deliver on time and in budget, based on completion of the phased developments of the business plan and implementation of the architectural brief for the full development of the site: 
 
Phase 2: to co-ordinate initial building works and renovations to commence trading

Phase 3: to run alongside phase 2 to, foster strong relationships with community members, shareholders, stakeholders, and local organisations to open the pub 

Phase 4: Engage with the shareholders and community to develop architectural brief for wider pub scheme. 

Key Responsibilities

1.    Project Planning and Execution:
•     Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timelines, and budgets.
•     Coordinate resources, including volunteers, and external contractors.
•     Monitor project progress and adjust as needed to ensure successful completion.

2.    Community Engagement:
•      Organise and facilitate community meetings and events to gather input and feedback.
•      Promote community involvement and volunteering in pub projects.


3.    Financial Management:
     Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring financial accountability and transparency.
•      Identify and apply for grants, funding opportunities, and other financial resources.
•      Maintain accurate financial records and reports for review by the board.


4.    Compliance and Governance:
•      Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulations, licenses, and legal requirements.
•      Work closely with the board to align projects with the society's mission and strategic goals.
•      Prepare regular reports and updates for the board and members.


Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

​Qualification in Project Management (desirable) Business Administration, Community Development, or or equivalent experience).


Experience:

•      Experience in project management, preferably within the community or non-profit sector.
•      Experience in construction project management, is desirable.


Skills:

•    Excellent organisational and multi-tasking abilities.
•    Strong leadership and project manager skills.
•    Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
•    Financial acumen and budget management experience.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
